Jane High, a resident of Scratby, near Great Yarmouth in Norfolk, has transformed a front garden into a quirky local tourist attraction. She inherited a 1970s homemade model village four years ago and has since expanded it to include over 20 tiny buildings, featuring a 1960s garage, forge, windmill, and even a fish and chip shop. What makes this village truly unique is its eclectic mix of characters and themes, including dinosaurs, Doctor Who figures, and Daleks, which High attributes to the influence of her grandchildren. High's passion for model villages stems from her childhood, where she painted figures for a model village in Great Yarmouth. She took on the project after meeting Sewell's daughter, who decided High was the ideal person to care for the village. The process of moving the village involved dismantling it, digging out the garden for concrete roads, and reassembling it over a summer. High's dedication and creativity have breathed new life into this 1970s model village, making it a beloved local attraction that brings smiles to passersby's faces.
